What to expect at worship

Our service runs about an hour. There's lively music — hymns, sometimes a guest musician, often an unexpected instrument — alongside scripture readings, a sermon from Pastor thom, time for kids, and a chance to share prayers or things on your heart. We celebrate communion regularly, and the table is open: if you'd like to receive, you're welcome, regardless of your background or where you are in your faith.

You don't need to know when to stand or sit. You don't need to recite anything from memory. If you'd rather just listen the whole time, that's completely fine. Pews aren't fixed, kids occasionally roam, and laughter is allowed — even encouraged.

After the service, we gather in the back for coffee and conversation. Stay as long or as little as you'd like.

Finding us

We're at 333 W. Wisconsin Street, tucked into the Old Town Triangle between Lincoln Park, Old Town proper, and the Gold Coast.

By train (CTA): The Brown and Purple Line stops at Sedgwick are a short walk away. The Red Line at North/Clybourn is also nearby.

By bus: Several CTA routes pass within a few blocks, including the #22 Clark, #36 Broadway, #37 Sedgwick, and #72 North Avenue.

By car: The church has about ten parking spaces on-site. They fill quickly, but free street parking is generally available on surrounding blocks on Sunday mornings — just read the signs for any permit zones.

By bike or on foot: You're in a walkable, bike-friendly neighborhood. There's a ample room along the fence to chain a bike.

If you'd like to stay in touch after your visit, drop your email in the subscription box below. From there, you'll get our weekly newsletter with what's coming up, and you can decide for yourself how involved you'd like to be.

There's no membership pressure, no required sign-ups, no expectation that you come back next week. Some people visit once and that's the right thing for them. Others slowly become part of the family. Both are fine.

We’ll save you a seat.
